Merry Christmas Part 2

The King is here!

Herod died and they were free to return from Egypt in peace. Jesus became a carpenter like his stepfather Joseph. But he also was growing in his divinity and humanity. He would follow his true father and submitted his will to him. As he grew in wisdom the world around him was astonished but also afraid of what he was saying. He threatened their power, and way of life. The Kingdom of God was breaking in! Great miracles were taking place, prophecies were being fulfilled. But death threats came again. The plot to kill him was real.
A very unmerry situation!

A Dead King!!

Those who became his disciples and followed him struggled giving up their old way of life. Doubt, fear and disappointment were all very real. Especially after his unfair trial and his crucifixion. The heart wrenching reality of Jesus‘s death crushed the hope  of his disciples and family.
The sting of death appeared to have won.
A very unmerry situation!

Dead is Dead….. Right?

Jesus’ fulfilling all that he said rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the father. All of this was done to change rebellious humanity. No longer will our unmerry situation rule our lives! We are forgiven and set free from darkness!
A savior was born to be King, to rule and reign for ever.
No matter what your unmerry situation is you have a loving God that took on humanity to relate with us in our brokenness. Jesus is making things right! He is raising us up into his divinity through the power of the Holy Spirit!
This is the Merry Christmas we all need!
How do we start this activity of Christoformity?

Prayers to help Christoformity

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We are truly sorry and humbly repent. For the sake of your son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we might delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

The Disciples Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us  lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil for thine is the glory and the power forever Amen!
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!

Christmas tide ends Jan 11.
